Vincent Van Gogh Week

So grateful that I will be interviewed by KBOO Community Radio on Monday, July 27th at 11 AM. Please listen in. Thank you so much. This Wednesday, also, I will help support NAMI Multnomah & Suicide Prevention. I am selling flowers for the ‘The Flowers of Van Gogh Flower Sale,’ July 29th, 11-3pm at NorthStar Clubhouse. Flowers will sold at Pioneer Square, City Hall, and at NorthStar. Vincent Van Gogh was such a prolific painter, and he painted many paintings of irises and sunflowers. We will be selling irises and sunflowers in memory of his death. He died 125 years ago this date. Suicide is something that many people don’t like to talk about, but I think the more we educate people about it, the better off we are. My mom was a completed suicide, Vincent Van Gogh was my mom’s favorite painter. Why she chose to end her life, is still a mystery to me. I don’t know what she was thinking or how she was aching at her last moments of death. It leaves a hard lump in my throat. “Why didn’t she get help? There were doctors and counselors available. She missed out on seeing my stepchildren grow and my grandchildren being born. She could have seen the progress that she helped me with in facing the difficulties of my disease. I miss her very much. I hope that you, your loved one, or family member who is going through suicidal thoughts, attempts, or suicides get the help that you need. It is still a beautiful world.
