Coloring with pastels was one of the ways I dealt with stress during the holiday
Larry Miller, a friend and classmate, gave me two sets of pastels to explore with two summers ago. I vaguely remember coloring with pastels when I was in grade school and since I was released from Kishwaukee Hospital in 1976, so the medium was still knew to me. Introducing it to my senses and my system, it had a calming effect. I could work through my problems as I had with oils and be creative. I thought it was an enjoyable art. This is what I came up as I referred to a book called Flowers and Blooms, a North Light Book, that my friend, Susan Hammer gave to me.
