What a great experience I had at Larry Miller’s- my RHS 67′ classmate and his husband Jay’s today. I met Alice Savage Gardner and Steve Totman there at Larry and Jay’s BBQ. Steve and his wife, Anita went to Europe recently and discovered the beauty of Barcelona in the La Sagrada Familia- Temple by Gaudi- and the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo in Rome. Their stories and memories, had me head over heels in love with Europe all over again and reminded me of why I wanted to revisit Spain in the upcoming years. Their talk of the Temple was so illuminating, and full of light and inspiration. A great deal of the structure had been completed, and the people of Spain had “changed,” some since I was there in 1995.
Larry gave me a tool box of pastels to work with so I could re-explore my passionate side of art. And Alice Savage, a good friend of mine, who is the head of the Roseburg High School Class Reunion of 67′, gave us a wonderful welcoming and send off. It feels so great to have friends of like minds to converse with in this universe. It was a spectacular time.
