NAMI (National Alliance On Mental Illness) , Multnomah’s Vincent Van Gogh Flower Sale was a great success. We commemorated Vincent Van Gogh’s death to suicide, today. He died 125 years ago this month, July, and day, 29th. Vincent Van Gogh was a prolific Dutch painter who painted the famous ‘Starry Night’ painting a year before he died (something he always loved to do, paint). We sold sunflowers and irises, which Van Gogh painted in his compositions, in memory of him. We are bringing awareness to suicide and how people can get help for themselves and loved ones through Suicide Prevention. The suicide Prevention

Patty Lyons’s- associate director of NAMI Multnomah who helped organize this event- daughter made the aprons for us. We passed out brochures about NAMI Multnomah’s mission and programs and suicide prevention booklets.
