Even though my Brazilian cousin Myrna Deirdre Duarte, lives a continent away from the United States from me, I feel a close connection to her. She is a recent physical therapist and I share her sanctity of life and love for others. Our kinship occupies a a place in my heart that reassures me – wherever I am, whatever the pain, or grief, that I am going through, I will feel happiness and joy again forever. Myrna is one of my mom’s sister’s daughters. Her eyes are an incredible color of turquoise and we have a spiritual bonding. This photo was taken on my visit to Joao Pessoa Brazil 2004.
