BOY BLUE

I began making a study of my stepson when he was young. I called his portrait Boy Blue, with a similar looking face that fit a description of Boy Blue. His eyes were honest blue and soft, he was a toe head with straight bangs and hues of yellow in his sideburns. He had a mild sweet yet comical approach to life that made me feel I was reading a Dennis the Menace comic book while trying to reproduce his picture on canvas. Little did I know, my stepson, grew dinosaur feet as he aged and bobby pin horns sticking from his ears, I jumped through hoops and dodged all obstacles as I was faced to continue explain my intentions and purpose in life. My Stepson Painted by Artist and Author Sherry M joiner When I finished my stepson’s portrait, I came to him and said, “Do you want to see your picture? He gabbed the painting from hands and said You are trying to take advantage of me and he threw the painting in the nearest trash can dumpster.
