My Dad. James Standing’s, great Aunt Georgia Viola Standing 1906, was a contralto at the Cosmopolitan Opera Company at the Hippodrome in New York. My maiden name was Standing. In New York she also sang on NBC and CBS television stations. She traveled in the United States and Canada singing in churches, concerts and synagogues. She was a soloist with New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, and National Symphony in Washington DC. As part of the Idaho State Library she has taped technical music books for the blind.
